The white-and-red girls could not sleep too long today, as their alarm clocks rang at 4 A.M. annunciating a long journey to Bilbao. As part of preparations to the IHF Youth U18 Women’s World Championship Polish National Team is spending a sunny weekend in Spain, where they will play two friendly matches with the local age-mates.

22 Polish players spent last couple of days in Szczyrk, small town situated in the mountains of southern Poland. However, only 16 went to the Basque Country. “Some of the girls still need to prove they deserve a place in the team,” – says the coach Agnieszka Truszyńska. “In Spain they will face another challenges. We are going to practise some elements in the offence, including playing outnumbered.”

The games will be played on Saturday, the 14th and Sunday, the 15th at 18:30 hrs. Both teams will meet again in Kielce, on the 5th August, right before the tournament, that starts two days later.
