During IHF Youth U18 Women’s World Championship on the stands not only can we  meet famous stars of handball but it is also possible to cheer up with the legend of football. The match between Netherlands and Japan watched one of the most famous player in the history of Netherland’s football – Frank de Boer.

Former player of Ajax Amsterdam and FC Barcelona came to Kielce to support his daughter – Beau, which play on the wing in Holland representation. When he reached the tribunes in Politechnika Hall was recognized quickly, after a moment everybody wanted to take a picture or get an autograph. We took an opportunity to ask him a few questions –  for example about what he likes in the host city.

– I know that Kielce has one of the best handball team in Europe and that is for sure a real handball city. I just arrived, so I only saw this hall, but I heard a lot of good things about the city. Other parents of the girls were here few days earlier and told me that there is nice centre. I will definitely check it! – assured Boer

The Dutch also gave away the details about his daughter choice. Why she play handball? – My mother played handball as so did my wife when she was young. She ended with handball when she started dating me because I was professional at this time. We always love to play handball, my daughter started at the local club and now she is playing for the biggest club in Holland – they won championship this year. She enjoys it very much and for me as a parent it is the most important. One of my younger daughter also plays handball, but on the lower level – he said.

What does he enjoy in handball? – It is quite speedy game. It is fun to watch, because you can see a lot of goals.  It is also very hard sport, because it is all about tactics, running, techniques. All these things make that I really love to watch it.
