Angola and Slovakia have played a match in the Hall Legionow for the last time. Both teams no longer have the chance to leave group A. Only they have to fight for places in the Politechnika Hall. Despite this, the match proved to be a balanced battle, which was won by the team from Slovakia 23:24.

The first half of the match was better started by Slovakia, which thanks to the interventions of the goalkeeper, could go out in the tenth minute to lead 3: 5. Unfortunately, the Slovaks made some easy mistakes which Angola used. Both teams played very well in defence. Several times, the players had to leave the pitch with small injuries. In the twenty-fifth minute, Angola began to build an advantage, which was up to four goals for them. After the final whistle, a penalty kick was used by Reka Meszaros, and on the scoreboard, we saw the state 13:10.

In the second part of the match Angola’s advantage gradually was melting, first to two and in the forty-second minute, to one goal. Africans began to play very nervously, lose their balls. Thanks to this, in the forty-eighth minute Slovakia scored a goal and we saw 19:19. Slovakia for the first time only managed to lead five minutes before the end of the match, scoring two goals in a row. The last minute of the match turned out to be crucial. Angola was in the attack, but the ball captured Slovakia and started the run to counterattack. However, one of Slovaks was fouled, and then the judges dictated a penalty kick. He was not used by Reka Meszaros, who hit the post. However, the European team still had the ball in attack. The Angolans blocked the throws twice, but in the last seconds Diana Michalkova threw the goal and gave victory for Slovakia.

Rasmus Poulsen, head coach of Slovakia: Today was our big win. We didn’t start the game well. I’m very happy that after one hour we defeated the opponent. This game was hard for us but despite it, we played to the end.
